"Eros and Earth"

At Friends House, Euston, London - a talk by Brian Swimme - May 2003 (afternoon only)
During the nineteenth and twentieth centuries we laboured under the illusion that Earth was something like a hardware store or a gravel pit, and that we humans were the managers. In such a model all that was left for us was consumerism. But things are changing. We now begin to suspect that Earth is more like a living being, and that the 12 billion year evolving universe is more like a great drama. We may not yet know our fullest significance in this cosmic story, but one of our deepest intuitions is that it has something to do with the joy that fills us whenever we touch upon intimacy in the Earth Community. Dr Brian Swimme is a mathematical cosmologist on the graduate faculty of the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco"

"Samhain"
At Offa House, near Coventry - including a talk by Ayesha Foot - October 2002

During the weekend we will hit a talk from Ayesha Foot "Connecting with Samhain".

"Science, Soul and Society"
At Hengrave Hall, East Anglia - including talks by Diarmuid O'Murchu, Chris Clarke and Mary Grey - March 2002
Across the world people are coming together to re-think and re-feel their relationships with other cultures and other species on our endangered planet. We are part of this great awakening. Science has brought unprecedented knowledge, but has distracted us from the role of meaning and consciousness in the universe. Now, a new widening of science restores our fullness of vision. Soul is the deep well of life from which the wisdom and energy comes to give birth to this new vision, and to reclaim the guiding insights of the spiritual traditions. Society is the web of relationships and identities within which we regain the power and wisdom to live responsibly on the earth. The speakers are: Chris Clarke, Mary Gray and Diarmuid O'Murchu

"Celebrating and Creating a Sustainable Harvest"
At EarthSpirit near Glastonbury including a talk by Herbert Girardet - September 2001
Our annual gathering is in the autumn, a time when we have traditionally celebrated the harvest. Acknowledging the selfishness of humankind and the challenges that this brings, we nevertheless wanted to celebrate the sustaining and bountiful earth, the many good things in our lives, the beauty of creation and the awe it inspires within us. Our intention is that these attitudes and experiences will stimulate thought and discussion about how else we can contribute to a sustainable environment and human society. During the weekend we will hear a talk by Herbert Girardet on "Creating sustainable settlements".
