Many of us have heard about the science of climate change and may have wondered how it causes turbulent weather conditions, particularly flooding. You may have wondered what can be done about it on an individual level and how to inspire a difference in the way we humans live.
This book is about people’s personal stories of flooding, produced by extreme weather conditions. By listening to people’s experiences, we become aware that the problem of climate change is immediate, affecting us today. Also, by listening to people’s positive experiences of downshifting, we can learn that combating climate change can be beneficial for the environment, leading to a more fulfilled life because downshifting can result in reduced carbon emissions and a simpler way of living.
The compiler, Ian Mowll, is the coordinator of GreenSpirit, a OneSpirit Interfaith Foundation minister, and a co-editors and layout artist of GreenSpirit magazine.
