Rewilding

Rewilding is an invitation to restore the living richness of the Earth. It is about allowing natural processes to flourish again – helping landscapes, wildlife and ecosystems recover so that Nature can begin to care for itself once more. And from a spiritual perspective, we can rewild ourselves, reconnecting with our indigenous past to feel deeply connected with the Earth and all life.

Across Britain and around the world, people are rediscovering the power of rewilding. On this page we will share news, ideas and initiatives that inspire reconnection with the wild. Explore how rewilding is unfolding, and discover ways you can take part in this hopeful movement for the Earth.

Yorkshire Rewilding Network

Connecting, inspiring and enabling rewilding throughout Yorkshire

The Yorkshire Rewilding Network aims to bring together anyone in the region who has an interest in rewilding — to inspire one-another, share knowledge and experience, and work towards a brighter, more sustainable future for all inhabitants… be they creatures great or small.

Wild Finca

‘Wild Finca’ (Spanish for farm) is located in the Asturias province in Northern Spain and is the home of Katie, Luke and their 2 young boys. Katie’s super book, ‘No Paradise with Wolves’ (reviewed by Caroline Warnes in the GreenSpirit website) describes their Rewilding project which began in 2018. A fascinating read, it doesn’t shirk from setting out the hard work, problems and the need for resilience as well as the very many joys. One of the exciting developments is that of the ‘Wild Shift’, a programme for nature-led parenting for which details are available at:

The Wild Gardener

The Wild Gardener is an inspiring exploration of how we can work with nature rather than against it. The series follows passionate gardeners transforming their spaces into thriving, wildlife-friendly habitats, embracing natural processes and ecological balance. From rewilded back gardens to community spaces, it reveals how small changes can invite biodiversity, resilience, and beauty into everyday life. Blending practical advice with a deeper philosophy, the programme encourages viewers to rethink control, celebrate unpredictability, and rediscover a more harmonious relationship with the living world just beyond their doorstep.
